Pastor Doug Erickson, D. Min. is the Co-Founder of Embassy Ministries International and Lead Pastor of the Embassy Ministry Center in Fresno, California. Embassy Ministries International is also registered as an organization in India where they have eight Churches, a small Bible training center, and an Evangelism and Church Planting Program. Several local outreaches and “pre-Church fellowships” are meeting and awaiting funding and Pastoral leadership.
Since 1984 Pastor Doug has served as Founding Director, and provided Pastoral leadership over The Maroa Home, a Christ-centered residential discipleship program for addicted men. The men living in The Maroa Home are 60% self-funded through projects run by their vocational training program. These enterprises help the men learn what it is to be good citizens in the community and to give back to it.
In 1998, Erickson and a group of Maroa Home supporters opened The Potter's Wheel Fellowship with regular family worship services geared largely to families caught in the grip of addiction and the devastation it produces for families. This was a cross-cultural multi-racial fellowship, and missions minded Church body that was subsequently closed in 2007. Potter’s Wheel regularly sponsored outreaches to the community from Maroa Home's Christ Centered perspective of recovery and healing from dysfunctional lifestyles through Jesus Christ.
In January of 2007, following a season of prayer and fasting and a series of visitations by God, it was determined that the season for the Potter‘s Wheel had come to a close, and that Pastor Doug and his wife Cyndi were to work together to found the Embassy Ministry Center with a strong emphasis on Evangelism, and the raising up of Ambassadors for Christ with an understanding of the Five-Fold Ministry gift paradigm.
Pastor Doug was born in Antioch (East Bay Area), California on 11/09/1953. At this writing he is 54 years old. In 1976, Doug received deliverance and healing from God. He had a personal history of drug and alcohol abuse. Prior to entering the ministry, Doug was a professional musician. In Ministry he still enjoys using the gift of music and sound Biblical teaching along with Recovery-Community wisdom and a unique sense of humor. He is however, most known for a unique insight into the Scriptures concerning the Kingdom of God and our ministry on earth as Kings, Priests and Ambassadors for Christ. He reaches out with God's healing to all who are in need of the comfort he himself has experienced through a relationship with God. Doug's testimony is a unique story of God's healing power, and is used to encourage people to seek their own restoration process.
It also involves them in bringing God's good news to others in need. He has sat on numerous steering committees in the greater Fresno area these past 19 years. These include Fresno Prison Fellowship, the Fresno Homeless Coalition, Bill Glass Champions for Life and Project Homeless. Doug served as a Volunteer Police Chaplain for 15 years and was a Volunteer Teacher and Chaplain in the County Jail for nearly twenty years. He has three commendations from the Mayor and City Counsel of Fresno, Fresno Police Chief, and California State Assembly for meritorious service to the community.
Pastor Erickson has achieved one Master's Degree in Theology and is at the Thesis Phase of a Master's Degree in Organizational Development from Fresno Pacific University (An HR Degree). He also holds a Doctor of Ministry Degree in the field of Pastoral Counseling from Anchor Theological Seminary in McAllen, Texas. Doug has served as a conference and retreat speaker across the United States and in India. He is currently available to speak to congregations, service organizations, schools, and conferences by appointment.
